Up the Gunners!
A faithful homage to the famous clock overlooking the rich history of Arsenal, first at Highbury and now at Emirates, for many decades.
I started following the Premier League 3 years ago and with no real connection to any of the teams I had free choice. I resited the urge to go with the typical Liverpool or Man United option and never gave Man City a thought despite their success at the time. Arsenal’s history was appealing and it was evident they were building something special.
Three seasons in a row they came second and as a recent supporter I was encouraged but not really devastated like a long-term supporter would have been. I was much more heavily invested in the 25/26 season though and my poor wife had to listen and nod about yet another sport and yet another team’s wins and losses. The pressure was immense towards the end but not as big as the party once they sealed the premiership. What a time to be a Gooner!
Not long after they were proclaimed champions a repeat customer from the US contacted me about a potential job, a watch homage to the Clock End clock. You can imagine my excitement and enthusiasm. My customer is a talented designer and he provided the artwork so all I can take credit for is advice with the parts and making the dial and handset.
The caseback engraving is just the cherry on top, or behind…?
