The Devil Is In The Details…

The brief was a 24 hour sweep with minimalist aesthetics and to somehow incorporate the number 666. Engraving the number on the dial was the obvious thought but the customer had seen the Commander’s Watch with its 007 counterbalance on the seconds hand and I drew inspiration from that to create a punchy and very legible GMT hand.

While we used a GMT movement and insert, the design ignores the GMT functionality. Think of the GMT hand as just your hours readout. The minutes hand takes a bit of a backstage but is still very useful in conjunction with the chapter ring which breaks up all of the black of the design.
